See below for monthly giving details.
Funding Community Priorities 2017/2018
Grove Park Foundation is working in collaboration with members of the community so we can best address their most pressing needs and concerns. We have identified several areas of focus, and your contributions can help us reach the targets necessary to fund these programs.
Stabilize and support Grove Park’s most vulnerable homeowners
Goal: $250,000
Grove Park’s homeowners, the neighborhood’s longest-term residents, will benefit from many aspects of Grove Park’s revitalization. But they also face significant risks including rising property taxes, increased cost of living, and opportunistic investors. The Home Repair Program will stabilize and support Grove Park’s most vulnerable homeowners with critical repairs including: roofs, weatherization and energy efficiency, ADA upgrades, exterior curb appeal projects, screens and windows, and more.
Your support will help 25 homeowners receive up to $10,000 of critical repairs and property investments to assist elderly and low-income homeowners to reduce energy costs and maintain necessary home repairs and allow them to remain as stable members of the community. (We expect that for a % of homes, we will get a match from ATL Habitat for a total $20K/ house-how to include?)
Our partners include:
- Grove Park Renewal
- Paradise Missionary Baptist Church
- Grove Park CDC
- Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
Help Grove Park students get the supportive wrap around services they need to succeed
Goal: $150,000
Grove Park’s students face an immense educational gap and, along with their champions and support services, are racing to close it. Grove Park Foundation’s community partners have made us aware of the need for supplemental occupational therapy services for a significant number of students outside of the support they receive during the school day.
Your support will fund an occupational therapy program to help Grove Park students get the supportive wrap around services they need to succeed. It will provide occupational therapist services during after school, summer and weekend hours, parent training, materials and technology.
Our partners include:
- PAW Kids neighborhood after-school program
- Atlanta Public Schools
- KIPP Metro Atlanta
- YMCA of Metro Atlanta
Hire neighborhood residents to help us evaluate neighborhood needs
Goal: $80,000
Grove Park Foundation envisions a Grove Park neighborhood that honors its rich legacy, embraces the strengths of its residents, and engages strategic resources to build a pathway to the goal of a thriving community. A critical first step for Grove Park Foundation is to evaluate neighborhood needs to better identify appropriate programs, partners, and funding. A Community Needs Assessment will be conducted by the Polis Institute to measure and analyze Grove Park residents’ concerns, needs, worries, outlook, and hopes for their neighborhood. This organization will hire and train community residents to conduct surveys of their neighbors. The survey results will inform Grove Park Foundation’s work and be available as a neighborhood resource.
Your support will allow Grove Park residents to express their greatest needs, fears, and desires about their community, provide several Grove Park Residents with jobs, and create a community data resource.
Our partners include:
- Polis Institute
- Purpose Built Communities
- Grove Park Foundation Economic Development Committee
