Grove Park Foundation is aligning a set of investments in education, housing, and wellness to create a healthy neighborhood environment, and provide economic opportunities for families and children to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
Milestones Achieved

- Secured $18.5 million in funding from Atlanta Public Schools for construction of a new Woodson Park Academy, K–8 school building slated to open in 2020
- Successfully advocated for the approval of KIPP schools as the designated operator of Woodson Park Academy, beginning in August 2019
- Secured partnership with the YMCA of Metro Atlanta to construct a new state-of-the-art community wellness and early childhood learning center adjacent to Woodson Park Academy
- Building a partnerships with Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre, Fox Theatre Institute, and others to build and support a thriving arts community in Grove Park
- Partnered with Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, Grove Park Neighborhood Association, Greening Youth Foundation and others to build a rain garden on the church site in the Proctor Creek watershed
Building a partnership with Callanwolde Fine Arts Center to provide arts experiences for all of Grove Park’s K-5 students
- Connected Grove Park residents and organizations with Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation to provide pro-bono legal advice and representation around landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, unpaid wages, domestic violence, and probate issues
- Linked Soccer in the Streets to the Grove Park neighborhood, bringing soccer and character building programming to Grove Park’s children
